CAPStone Presentation
Who was our speaker?
Megan Suri is a nurse practitioner at the Sprint Campus and works for Cerner. She came and spoke about her schooling, job, and responsibilities. As a nurse practitioner, she can suture, prescribe prescriptions, and diagnosis illnesses. At her office there is not primary physician on campus, so it it ran mostly by nurse practitioners and nurses.

Our Preactivity
Our preactivativity consisted of an introduction to being and becoming a nurse practitioner. We had a powerpoint presentation that helped with the background information of professions in that field. We hadn't had a nurse practitioner come in, so we wanted to make sure everyone was well educated on a great future profession.
Presenting Our Process to the Class
We had many twists and turns throughout the planning process because we planned for a chiropractor to come in and speak. He had and still has a poor system of communication, so getting a reply back is hard. We planned him for a date, and then had to reschedule due to the ACT. We planned the new date, but he never confirmed it, so we went to another profession. Our CAPStone ended up working out, and I'm glad that we had a backup plan.

About Me
A passion for helping others led me down the path of Medicine into a career that will allow me to provide and care for others. I frequently enjoy running and staying fit. Volunteering is one of my passions, and I love serving others. My future includes getting my BSN and partaking in the traveling nurses program. After a few years, I plan to go back to school and get either my nurse practitioners, nurse anesthetist, or physician's assistant license.
